Fehaid Al-Deehani
Fahad Al-Deehani ( ar, فهيد الديحاني, born October 11, 1966) is a Kuwaiti professional target shooter and officer in the Kuwaiti military. He was born in Kuwait City. Olympic career Al-Deehani won a bronze medal for the men's double trap shooting event at the 2000 Summer Olympics, and won another bronze for the men's Olympic trap shooting event at the 2012 Summer Olympics. At the 2016 Summer Olympics, Al-Deehani competed as an " independent Olympic athlete" because Kuwait was banned from the Olympics by the IOC. Al-Deehani called for the resignation of Kuwaiti officials responsible for the IOC ban, but refused to carry the Olympic flag in the 2016 Olympic opening ceremonies. Al-Deehani defeated Italian Marco Innocenti in the gold medal match of the men's double trap, becoming the first independent athlete to win a gold medal. Abdullah Al-Rashidi
Abdullah Al-Rashidi (born August 23, 1963) is a Kuwaiti sport shooter and three-time world champion. He competed at the Summer Olympics in 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2020, winning bronze medals in men's skeet in both 2016 and 2020. Achievements Abdullah Al-Rashidi won three gold medals at the World Shooting Championships, in 1995, 1997 and 1998 and in 2011 he took a bronze medal. Competing since 1989, he is also the winner of four World cup events. Independent Olympic athletes competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 5 to 21 August 2016. The team was composed of Kuwaiti athletes who competed under the Olympic flag, as the Kuwait Olympic Committee had been suspended by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for the second time in five years due to governmental interference. In addition to the independent athletes, ten refugees were scheduled to compete under the Olympic flag as the Refugee Olympic Team, which constituted a separate team.
