Federico Rampini
Federico Rampini (born 25 March 1956) is an Italian journalist, writer, and lecturer who holds both Italian and American citizenship. He served as deputy editor of '' Il Sole 24 Ore'', and has worked as chief foreign correspondent for ''La Repubblica'' since 1997. He has been residing in the United States since 2000. He is the 2019 recipient of the Ernest Hemingway Prize. Early life, education, and family Rampini was born in Genoa, Italy, on 25 March 1956, and was raised in Brussels due to his father's work at the European Commission. He attended the European School, Brussels I, where he earned a European Baccalaureate. He then attended Bocconi University in Milan, where he spent four years studying political economy. Subsequently, he attended the Sapienza University of Rome, where his contemporaries included, amongst others, Mario Draghi. ''The Nation'' is an American liberal biweekly magazine that covers political and cultural news, opinion, and analysis. It was founded on July 6, 1865, as a successor to William Lloyd Garrison's '' The Liberator'', an abolitionist newspaper that closed in 1865, after ratification of the Thirteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution.
