Federal Counter-Intelligence Service
The Federal Counterintelligence Service of the Russian Federation (FSK RF; russian: Федеральная служба контрразведки Российской Федерации, Federal'naya sluzhba kontrrazvedki Rossiskoy Federatsii) was the main security agency of Russia. The FSK was the main successor agency to the Soviet Union's KGB. It existed from 1993 to 1995, when it was reorganized into the Federal Security Service (FSB). Origin On November 26, 1991, the President of the RSFSR Boris Yeltsin issued a decree on the transformation of the republican State Security Committee (KGB) into the Federal Security Agency of the RSFSR (AFB). Sergei Stepashin
Sergei Vadimovich Stepashin (russian: Сергей Вадимович Степашин; born 2 March 1952) is a Russian politician who briefly served as Prime Minister of Russia in 1999. Prior to this he had been appointed as federal security minister by President Boris Yeltsin in 1994, a position from which he resigned in 1995 as a consequence of the Budyonnovsk hospital hostage crisis. Subsequent to his tenure as Prime Minister he served as Chairman of the Accounts Chamber of Russia from 2000 until 2013. Early life and education Stepashin was born in Port-Arthur, Kvantun Oblast, USSR (now Lüshunkou, China) on 2 March 1952. He graduated from the Higher Political School of the USSR Ministry of the Interior (1973), in 1981 from the Lenin Military-Political Academy, and in 2002 from the Finance Academy. Viktor Evgenievich Ivanenko ( uk, Віктор Євгенович Іваненко; born 24 June 1961) is a retired Ukrainian pistol shooter and coach. Biography Ivanenko was born in Lviv, Ukraine. His father, Evgeny Zavgorodnyuk, was a soldier and did not live with the family. In 1974, Ivanenko was admitted into the Higher Lviv Sports Boarding School, where he trained in the pistol shooting department under Viktor Sikorsky. In 1975 he moved to the group of Mikhail Golubov. In 1978, he entered the Higher Lviv Military-Political School. In 1981, he won the European junior title in the 25 m rapid fire pistol event, with a score of 598 out of 600. Nikolai Mikhailovich Golushko (russian: Никола́й Миха́йлович Голу́шко; uk, Микола Михайлович Голушко ; born 21 June 1937 in the village Andreyevka in Kokshetau region, Kazakh SSR) is a former minister and KGB officer. Biography He was born to a family of Grey Klin Ukrainians. In 1959 he graduated from the law faculty of Tomsk university. He worked in KGB from 1963 on (for many years as an officer in the Fifth department, that aimed at suppressing 'ideological diversions' and political dissent). From 1987 to 1991 Golushko was the chairman of the Committee for State Security of the Ukrainian SSR (KDB). He was a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union from 1963 to 1991. Viktor Pavlovich Barannikov (russian: Виктор Павлович Баранников, October 20, 1940 — July 21, 1995) was the Soviet Interior Minister in 1991 and Russian Interior Minister from 1992 to 1993. Career He was the interior minister of Russian SFSR from September 1990 to September 1991, the interior minister of the USSR after the August Coup against Gorbachev from August 1991 to January 1992.
