Deatonville is a rural unincorporated community in the western part of Amelia County, Virginia, Amelia County in the U.S. state of Virginia. It is located in Leigh District along Virginia State Route 616 (Amelia County), SR 616 (S. Genito Road) at its junctions with Virginia State Route 617 (Amelia County), SR 617 (E. Sayler's Creek Road to the west, St. James Road east). Deatonville straddles the boundary between ZIP code, ZIP codes 23083 (Jetersville, Virginia, Jetersville) and 23966 (Rice, Virginia, Rice). One segment of U.S. Bicycle Route 1 runs southwest from Richmond, Virginia, Richmond; this segment follows the entire length of SR 616 through Amelia County and passes through Deatonville.
