Fang Zhichun
Fang Zhichun () (September 11, 1905 – July 31, 1993) was a People's Republic of China politician. He was a cousin of Fang Zhimin. He was born in Yiyang County, Jiangxi Province. He joined the Communist Party of China in 1924 and participated in the Nanchang Uprising of August 1927. In January 1928, along with his cousin and Huang Dao, he organized an uprising in Hengfeng County, Jiangxi Province. In 1937 he went to Yan'an, Shaanxi Province and in 1938 he went to the Soviet Union. After returning to China, he was arrested and imprisoned in Xinjiang by local warlord Sheng Shicai. In June 1946, he married Zhu Danhua, the widow of Mao Zedong's younger brother Mao Zemin, and became the stepfather Mao Zedong's nephew Mao Yuanxin Mao Zedong pronounced ; also romanised traditionally as Mao Tse-tung. Xinjiang, SASM/GNC: ''Xinjang''; zh, c=, p=Xīnjiāng; formerly romanized as Sinkiang (, ), officially the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region (XUAR), is an autonomous region of the People's Republic of China (PRC), located in the northwest of the country at the crossroads of Central Asia and East Asia. Mao Zedong pronounced ; also romanised traditionally as Mao Tse-tung. Mao Zemin
Mao Zemin (; April 3, 1896 – September 27, 1943), also using Zhou Bin () as his alias, was born in Xiangtan, Hunan province. He was the head of the state bank of the Chinese Soviet Republic in Ruijin and also the Minister of National Economic Department. He was a younger brother of Mao Zedong and joined the Chinese Communist Party early on. During World War II, he was sent to Xinjiang by the Party central committee in 1938. He and Chen Tanqiu were arrested by the warlord Sheng Shicai while at Ürümqi, Xinjiang. Zemin was executed on September 27, 1943. Life Mao Zemin (who took Runlian 润莲 as his courtesy name) was a brother of communist leaders Mao Zedong and Mao Zetan. He joined in the CCP in 1922. He was appointed the minister of the economic department in the Fujian-Guangdong-Jiangxi (闽粤赣, "Minyuegan") area in 1931 and the manager of national bank later in the year. Sheng Shicai
Sheng Shicai (; 3 December 189513 July 1970) was a Chinese warlord who ruled Xinjiang from 1933 to 1944. Sheng's rise to power started with a coup d'état in 1933 when he was appointed the ''duban'' or Military Governor of Xinjiang. His rule over Xinjiang is marked by close cooperation with the Soviet Union, allowing the Soviets trade monopoly and exploitation of resources, which effectively made Xinjiang a Soviet puppet state. The Soviet era ended in 1942, when Sheng approached the Nationalist Chinese government, but still retained much power over the province. He was dismissed from post in 1944 and named Minister of Agriculture and Forestry. Growing animosity against him led the government to dismiss him again and appoint to a military post. At the end of the Chinese Civil War, Sheng fled mainland China to Taiwan with the rest of Kuomintang.
