Fakts One
Fakts One (born April 6, 1977) is an American hip hop DJ & producer from Boston, Massachusetts. Fakts One was a founding member of the hip hop group The Perceptionists with long-time collaborators Akrobatik and Mr. Lif but left the group shortly after release of their first album Black Dialogue. History Raised in the historic Dudley Square (now Nubian Square) section of Roxbury, Fakts One grew up surrounded by highly influential local radio and DJs, most notably WILD 1090AM and local university stations WZBC, WMBR, WRBB, and Emerson College's WERS 88.9FM where he would spend his collegiate years (1995–1999) in Emerson's undergrad program. Fakts One has been a key figure in Boston's music scene since the late 1990s, DJing at area hip hop shows & WERS 88.9FM. WERS
WERS (88.9 FM) is one of Emerson College's two radio stations (the other being campus station WECB), located in Boston, Massachusetts, United States. Programming features over 20 different styles of music and news, including live performances and interviews. WERS stands as the oldest non-commercial radio station in New England, and has been in operation since November 1949. Among the founders of the station was WEEI program director Arthur F. Edes, who first taught broadcasting courses at Emerson in 1932 and helped to plan a campus radio station. The chief architect of WERS in its early years was Professor Charles William Dudley. Translators In June 2007, WERS inaugurated a translator station on 96.5  MHz in New Bedford, Massachusetts, relaying WERS's programming to New Bedford and nearby communities. Mr Lif
Jeffrey Haynes (born December 28, 1977), better known by his stage name Mr. Lif, is an American rapper from Boston, Massachusetts. While being praised because of his political lyrics, he has released two studio albums on Definitive Jux and one on Bloodbot Tactical Enterprises. Mr. Lif is also a member of the hip hop group The Perceptionists with long-time friends and collaborators Akrobatik and DJ Fakts One. Early life Haynes grew up in the neighborhood of Brighton, Boston, Massachusetts. After attending the Dedham private school Noble and Greenough School, he went on to attend Colgate University for two years, and he eventually dropped out. He became a performer in 1994. ''Black Dialogue'' is the debut studio album by American hip hop group The Perceptionists. It was released on Definitive Jux on March 22, 2005. WILD (AM)
WILD (1090 AM) is a radio station licensed to Boston, Massachusetts. The station airs a Christian format, and is owned by Blount Communications, through licensee Blount Masscom, Inc. The station operates during daytime hours only. Its transmitter is located in Medford. History WILD first went on the air in 1946 as WBMS, with a classical music format. Eventually, the station went to a "popular music" format, briefly adopted the call letters WHEE, then went back to being WBMS. By the end of the 1950s, the call letters were changed to WILD under owner Bartell Broadcasters, who tried a personality DJ and music format. The station's history is best known for a long-lasting urban contemporary format which began in the late 1950s (after several years in which Italian-language programming and rhythm and blues programs for the black community shared the station's schedule).
