Faisal Bin Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa
Sheikh Faisal bin Hamad Al Khalifa ( ar, فيصل بن حمد آل خليفة; 12 February 1991 – 12 January 2006) was a member of the Bahrain's ruling family, the House of Khalifa. Early life and activities Sheikh Faisal was born in at Al Sakhir Palace, East Riffa on 12 February 1991. He was the sixth son of King Hamad who has seven sons. Amongst his other titles, he was the honorary president of the Bahrain disabled sports federation. He was among those who organized the World Junior Endurance Championship in Bahrain in December 2005. His mother is Hessa bint Faisal bin Muhammad bin Shuraim Al Marri. Death Sheikh Faisal was killed in a car crash on 12 January 2006. He was 14. Hessa bint Salman Al Khalifa (c. 1933 – 5 August 2009) was a member of the Bahraini royal family. Marriage and children Hessa bint Salman was the Queen consort and widow of the former Emir of Bahrain, Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, who reigned from 1961 until his death in 1999. They married on 8 May 1949. She was the mother of the current King of Bahrain, Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the couple's eldest son. Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa (; 3 June 1931 – 6 March 1999) was the first emir of Bahrain from 1961 until his death in 1999. Born in Jasra, Bahrain, he became emir upon the death of his father, Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. Early life and reign Isa was born in Jasra to Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Mouza bint Hamad Al Khalifa (1933-2009), the daughter of Hamad ibn Abdullah Al Khalifa, and succeeded his father as emir upon his death in November 1961. Al-Sakhir Palace
Al-Sakhir Palace, also known as Sakhir Palace, is a palace in the Sakhir desert region of western Bahrain. The palace lies off the Zallaq Highway, northeast of the Bahrain International Circuit, the town of Zallaq and the University of Bahrain. It lies southwest of Sadad, Shahrakan and Dar Kulaib, the nearest town to the palace. History Built in 1870 or 1901 according to different sources, it is one of the most eminent buildings in the country. The extensive complex was once the residence of the ruler of Bahrain, Sheikh Hamad, who moved into the palace around 1925. He was very fond of the palace and lived there with his wife Hosha and regularly invited prominent noblemen and political figures from the United Kingdom and elsewhere to dine at the palace.
