Fairies (Japanese Band)
was a Japanese idol girl group, formed in 2011 and ended in 2020. They were managed by the talent agency Rising Production and produced by the Avex record label Sonic Groove. History Pre-debut Fairies was formed by talent agency Vision Factory (now Rising Production), famous for successful artists such as Namie Amuro, MAX and Speed. Their concept was "a world class talented group that is able to compete overseas." Members were chosen from 100 candidates who were attending dance schools affiliated with Vision Factory, coming from 13 regions of Japan. The group name was open for suggestions from the public through a special corner in Nippon TV programme ''Sukkiri!!'', and "Fairies" was chosen with the explanation that their dancing form resembled a group of fairies fluttering. The ''Billboard Japan'' Hot 100 is a record chart in Japan for songs. It has been compiled by ''Billboard Japan'' and '' Hanshin Contents Link'' since February 2008. The chart is updated every Wednesday at Billboard-japan.com ( JST) and every Thursday at Billboard.com ( UTC). The Oricon Singles Chart is the Japanese music industry-standard singles popularity chart issued daily, weekly, monthly and yearly by Oricon. Chart rankings are based on physical singles' sales. Until 2017, Oricon did not track download sales. In Japan, physical sales decreased sharply in the 2000s, while download sales hit three to four times the amount of single sales. In November 2017, Oricon introduced its first digital songs chart, separate from its main physical singles chart. In November 2018, Oricon launched a streaming chart, and introduced a combined singles chart that utilizes physical single sales, downloads, and streams. Super Girls, stylized as SUPER☆GiRLS, also known as are an eleven-member Japanese idol group. Formed by Avex Trax in 2010 after various auditions, the current group includes new members. They have released several albums. History Avex held public auditions for members of the new group in June 2010, from which twelve finalists were selected out of 7,000 participants. By February 2010, about 1,000 people advanced to the second round, and a final round was held in June. The results of the audition were subject to controversy because of a lottery system used to select two of the members. Super Girls made their stage debut on 7 August 2010 at the A-Nation event.
