Fabio Baldato
Fabio Baldato (born 13 June 1968) is an Italian former racing cyclist. In 2008, he was the oldest rider in a ProTour team. His cycling career ended when he crashed heavily in the Eneco Tour. He also competed at the 1988 Summer Olympics and the 1996 Summer Olympics. 1994 Tour Of Flanders
The 78th running of the Tour of Flanders cycling race in Belgium was held on Sunday 3 April 1994. Italian Gianni Bugno won in a four-man sprint ahead of Johan Museeuw and Andrei Tchmil. The race started in Sint-Niklaas and finished in Meerbeke (Ninove). Race Summary Defending champion Johan Museeuw had fallen behind early in the race because of a massive crash on Oude Kwaremont, forcing his team to chase for 30 minutes before returning to the front. On the Berendries climb, 35 km from the finish, a group of five was formed with Museeuw, Franco Ballerini, Andrei Tchmil, Gianni Bugno and Johan Capiot. Capiot was distanced on the Muur van Geraardsbergen and the four others headed to the finish. Museeuw, considered the fastest sprinter, reacted too late when Bugno initiated his sprint from afar and failed to get past the Italian. 1994 Paris–Roubaix
The 1994 Paris–Roubaix was the 92nd running of the Paris–Roubaix single-day cycling race, often known as the ''Hell of the North''. It was held on 10 April 1994 over a distance of . It was won by Andrei Tchmil, at the age of 31. It was his first and only victory in the "Hell of the North". Tchmil won alone, with an advantage of more than a minute in front of Italians Fabio Baldato and Franco Ballerini, who rounded out the podium. Setmana Catalana De Ciclisme
The Catalan Cycling Week (''Setmana Catalana de Ciclisme'' in Catalan) was a multi-stage road bicycle race held in Catalonia, Spain. Held annually from 1963 until 2005, it was run as a 2.HC race on the UCI Europe Tour in the second half of March. The Setmana Catalana was discontinued in 2006 due to financial problems and is no longer on the UCI Calendar. Since 2010, the Volta a Catalunya, Catalonia's oldest existing cycling race, was moved to the calendar slot formerly held by the Setmana Catalana in late March. The first winner of the race was José Pérez-Francés in 1963. Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne
Kuurne–Brussels–Kuurne is an annual single-day road cycling race in Belgium. It is held one day after Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, on the last Sunday of February or the first of March, and completes the opening weekend of the Belgian cycling season. It is ranked a 1.HC event of the UCI Europe Tour. Tom Boonen holds the most wins with three victories. History Early editions First held in 1946, the race was run from Kuurne, a small town known for its textile industry, to the Belgian capital of Brussels and back. In the 1950s it served as the opening race of the Belgian cycling season. When Brussels was becoming inaccessible for a cycling event in the late 1960s, the race was rerouted towards the Flemish Ardennes and renamed "Omloop der beide Vlaanderen" ''("Circuit of both Flanders")''.
