FK Lyn
Lyn 1896 Fotballklubb () is a Norwegian football club and a department of the sports club Ski- og Fotballklubben Lyn based in Oslo, whose members also participate in Nordic skiing and orienteering. Until 2010, SFK Lyn had two football departments, one professional section and one amateur section. After the professional football department, FK Lyn, was bankrupted in 2010, the fans decided to support the amateur department, Lyn Fotball, instead. With the help of some of the old FK Lyn players, Lyn Fotball has won three consecutive promotions, and are playing in the 3. divisjon. The team plays its home matches at Bislett Stadium, and the head coach is currently Jan Halvor Halvorsen. Lyn was founded in 1896 and is one of the oldest football clubs in Norway. Bislett Stadium
Bislett Stadium ( no, Bislett stadion) is a sports stadium in Oslo, Norway. Bislett is Norway's most well known sports arena internationally, with 15 speed skating world records and more than 50 track and field world records having been set here. The original stadium was demolished in 2004 and construction of a new stadium was completed by the summer of 2005. The New Bislett Stadium was designed by C.F. Møller Architects. History Bislett Stadium lies on the site of a 19th-century brick works, which was bought by the Municipality of Kristiania (Oslo) in 1898, and turned into a sports field in 1908. The merchant, speed skater, gymnast and sports organizer Martinus Lørdahl was instrumental in facilitating the construction of the first bleachers, begun in 1917 and completed in 1922 along with the new club house. Øivind Josef Holmsen (28 April 1912 – 23 August 1996) was a Norway, Norwegian Norway national football team, international footballer. He played left back for F.C. Lyn Oslo, Lyn and the 1936 Summer Olympics, 1936 Olympic bronze team. He also played in the 1938 FIFA World Cup, and got 36 caps in total. Arne Brustad
Arne Brustad (14 April 1912 – 22 August 1987) was a Norwegian footballer. He is regarded as one of the country's best players of all time. Career Brustad was an outside-left for Lyn. He won 33 caps for Norway, and scored 17 international goals. He was a member of Norway's "Bronze Team" from the 1936 Olympics. Brustad, who made his international debut in 1935, was one of the star players of the Berlin Olympics, where he scored five goals in four matches, including all three goals in Norway's 3–2 win against Poland in the third-place match. In 1938, Brustad was a member of Norway's World Cup team. Norway were knocked out in the first round by eventual champions Italy after extra time by a score of 2–1. Football is the most popular sport in Norway in terms of active membership (by television viewership football comes third, behind winter sports biathlon and cross-country skiing). The Toppserien is the top level of women's association football in Norway. It was founded in 1984. History Women's league football was introduced on a county basis in 1977. These leagues acted as qualification for the regional (South) league in 1979. Regional leagues were in operation until the formation of the First Division 1984, when the league was divided into three regions, Group Eastern-Norway (''Østlandet''), Group Western-Norway (''Vestlandet''), and Group Mid-Norway (''Trøndelag''). No teams from Northern-Norway (''Nord-Norge'') played, however. The winners of the three groups met each other for a play-off. UEFA Cup Winners' Cup
The UEFA Cup Winners' Cup was a European football club competition contested annually by the winners of domestic cup competitions. The cup was, chronologically, the second seasonal inter-European club competition organised by UEFA. The tournament ran for 39 seasons, with the final edition held in 1998–99, after which it was discontinued. The first tournament was held in 1960–61, but it was organised by the Mitropa Cup's Organising Committee and not recognised by the governing body of European football until 1963, when it was accepted as a UEFA competition on the initiative of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC). Jørgen Juve
Jørgen Juve (22 November 1906 – 12 April 1983) was a Norwegian football player, jurist, journalist and non-fiction writer. He played as a striker for Lyn, and also for the Norway national team. He is the highest-scoring player ever for Norway, with 33 goals in just 45 games. He was captain of the Norway team which won Olympic bronze medals in the 1936 Summer Olympics. He also had a career as a journalist for ''Dagbladet'' and ''Tidens Tegn'', and wrote several books. Personal life Juve was born in Porsgrunn; the son of tanner Ole Martin Juve and Marie Pøhner. The family name originates from the farm Juve/Djuve in Lårdal, where his grandfather was born. He was the eldest of six children. The 1936 Summer Olympics (German: ''Olympische Sommerspiele 1936''), officially known as the Games of the XI Olympiad (German: ''Spiele der XI.
