FK Banga Gargždai is a Lithuanian football club from the city of Gargždai. History FK Banga was founded in 1966. During the period from 1966 to 1990, the club was in the Soviet Lithuanian football championship. From 1990, they played in the Lithuanian championship. From 1994 to 2001, they were in the top tier. After the 2001 A Lyga, they were relegated to the I Lyga. The team earned promotion to the A Lyga, Lithuania's top football division, for the 2009 season after FBK Kaunas and Atlantas Klaipėda voluntarily withdrew their participation. Banga were also members of the A Lyga from 1994 to 2000. In the 2019 LFF I Lyga, FK Banga finished in second position and played in the relegation/promotion match with FK Palanga. Banga won the playoff, passed the licensing process, and returned to the top division after a 5-year break. In the 2020 A Lyga, FK Banga finished in 4th position. Tomas Tamošauskas
Tomas Tamošauskas (born 22 May 1983) is a Lithuanian football manager and a former midfielder. Club career Tamošauskas began his career at Banga Gargždai in 2000. In 2001, he moved to FK Atlantas where he scored the club's consolation goal in their UEFA Cup 2002-03 qualifying round match against Bulgarian club, PFC Litex Lovech which they lost 3–1. He then moved to Russia to play for Dynamo Moscow in 2003 where he made just one league appearance and played mostly reserve team football. On 10 February 2005 he moved back to Lithuania with FBK Kaunas on loan from Dynamo Moscow. In 2006, he moved to Latvia to play for Liepājas Metalurgs. Arminas Narbekovas (born 28 January 1965 in Gargždai) is a former Lithuanian football player. In 2003, he was selected by UEFA as his country's Golden Player, the greatest player of the past 50 years. Personal life Arminas Narbekovas was born to a Tatar father Andrey Narbekov and a Lithuanian mother. Career Narbekovas made his debut in 1983 with Žalgiris Vilnius, Lithuania's sole representative in the Soviet Top League, at the age of 18. In 1987, he finished second in league scoring with 16 goals while leading his club to a third-place finish, their best in history. Valdas Ivanauskas (born 31 July 1966) is a Lithuanian football coach and a former striker. He is best known in Europe for his time at Austria Vienna as well as Hamburger SV where he acted between 1993 and 97. Beyond that he stood on the sideline for Hearts football club from 2005–07. Fabio Lopez (born 17 June 1973) is an Italian football manager of Spanish descent and a former footballer.
