Funny Woman
''Funny Woman'' is a British drama television series directed by Oliver Parker and adapted for the screen by Morwenna Banks from the best-selling novel '' Funny Girl'' by Nick Hornby. It stars Gemma Arterton with an ensemble cast including Tom Bateman, David Threlfall, and Rupert Everett. The first series began airing on Sky Max on 9 February 2023, with all six episodes available on Now. In August, it was renewed for a second series. Series 2 launched in the UK on Sky Max, Sky Showcase and Now on 6 September 2024. ''Funny Lady'' is a 1975 American biographical film, biographical musical film, musical comedy-drama film and the sequel to the 1968 film ''Funny Girl (film), Funny Girl''. The film stars Barbra Streisand, James Caan, Omar Sharif, Roddy McDowall and Ben Vereen. Herbert Ross, who helmed the musical sequences for ''Funny Girl'' (which had been directed by William Wyler), serves as the director. Spike Milligan
Terence Alan "Spike" Milligan (16 April 1918 – 27 February 2002) was an Irish comedian, writer, musician, poet, playwright and actor. The son of an English mother and Irish father, he was born in British Raj, British India, where he spent his childhood before relocating in 1931 to England, where he lived and worked for the majority of his life. Michael Valentine 'Val' Doonican (3 February 1927 – 1 July 2015) was an Irish singer of traditional pop, easy listening and novelty songs, noted for his warm and relaxed vocal style.
