Full Fathom Five (band)
Full Fathom Five, also referred to as FF5, were an Australian rock and electronica band formed in Brisbane, Queensland. They were described as "Chemical Brothers on valium." They released a four-track extended play, ''Friend of Faux'', on 1 May 2000. It was followed in December by their single, "Who's Your Daddy", which was placed on high rotation by national youth radio, Triple J. They started recording their debut album, ''07 Seven'', in 2000 and released it in August 2001 via Valve Records, distributed by Warner. Derrin Cason of ''BrisPop'' observed, "a well-constructed stylish piece of work, flowing from one style to another effortlessly... the sounds they make can get your head screwed with or your feet bounding off the dance floor. Valve Records is an Australian record label, releasing a wide range of alternative artists both local and international. The label was created by Paul Curtis in 1994 to support the local bands he was managing. Chemical Brothers
The Chemical Brothers are an English electronic music duo formed by Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons in Manchester in 1989. They were pioneers (along with the Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, the Crystal Method, and other acts) in bringing the big beat genre to the forefront of pop culture. After attracting Virgin Records, the duo achieved further success with second album '' Dig Your Own Hole'' (1997), which topped the UK charts. Triple J
Triple J (stylised in all lowercase) is a government-funded, national Australian radio station intended to appeal to listeners of alternative music, which began broadcasting in January 1975. The station also places a greater emphasis on broadcasting Australian content compared to commercial stations. Triple J is a division of the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Topology (musical Ensemble)
Topology is an indie classical quintet from Australia, formed in 1997.. They perform throughout Australia and abroad and have to date released 14 albums, including one with rock/electronica band Full Fathom Five and one with contemporary ensemble Loops. They were formerly the resident ensembles at the University of Western Sydney and Brisbane Powerhouse. Paul Kelly (Australian Musician)
Paul Maurice Kelly (born 13 January 1955) is an Australian rock music singer-songwriter and guitarist. He has performed solo, and has led numerous groups, including the Dots, the Coloured Girls, and the Messengers. He has worked with other artists and groups, including associated projects Professor Ratbaggy and Stardust Five. Kelly's music style has ranged from bluegrass to studio-oriented dub reggae, but his core output straddles folk, rock and country. David Ross Hope Bridie is an Australian contemporary musician and songwriter. He was a founding mainstay member of World music band Not Drowning, Waving which released six studio albums to critical acclaim. He also formed a chamber pop group, My Friend the Chocolate Cake, which released seven studio albums. Sunk Loto are an Australian alternative metal band formed in Gold Coast, Queensland in 1997. The band's founding members are Dane Brown on drums, his brother Jason Brown on vocals, Luke McDonald on guitar and Sean Van Gennip on bass guitar.
