Foreign Press Association
The Foreign Press Association (FPA) is a not-for-profit Friendly Society established in 1888, at the time of the Jack the Ripper murders. It organises press briefings and events at central locations in London and coordinates and facilitates the work of international journalists based in London. Members of the association cover major British news, current affairs, politics, culture and entertainment and report from London back to their individual international news outlets. It is a umbrella organization for foreign journalists, offering support, social events and press briefings in London and beyond. The Golden Globe Awards are awards presented for excellence in both international film and television. It is an annual Awards ceremony, award ceremony held since 1944 to honor artists and professionals and their work. The ceremony is normally held every January, and has been a major part of the film industry's Film awards seasons, awards season, which culminates each year in the Academy Awards. Golden Globe Foundation
The Golden Globe Foundation is a nonprofit successor organization to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), which previously owned and managed the Golden Globe Awards. The awards themselves are now owned and operated by Dick Clark Productions (DCP) following the June 12, 2023 dissolution of the HFPA in which HPFA sold all its assets and intellectual property to DCP and rebranded itself as the Golden Globe Foundation. The foundation is currently funded by the proceeds of this sale. The president of the foundation is Henry Arnaud. The foundation, based in West Hollywood, California, is led by 9 board members and 3 members of staff. As of 2024, the foundation has 65 members. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) was a nonprofit organization of journalists and photographers who reported on the American entertainment industry for predominantly foreign media markets. It is best known for founding and conducting the annual Golden Globe Awards ceremony in Los Angeles, California, which honors notable achievements in film and television, from its inception in 1943 until 2023.
