Flora Perkins
Flora Perkins is a British professional cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . Perkins grew up in South London, where she raced with the VC Londres club at the Herne Hill Velodrome. In 2021, she won the amateur Banbury Star road race and junior Watersley Challenge. 2021 UEC European Track Championships
2021 UEC European Track Championships was the twelfth edition of the elite UEC European Track Championships in track cycling and took place at the Tissot Velodrome in Grenchen, Switzerland, from 5 to 9 October 2021. Originally it was supposed to be held in Minsk, Belarus, between 23 and 27 June 2021 as an elite UEC European Track Championships in track cycling On 27 May 2021 the Management Board of the European Cycling Union decided to cancel the 2021 Elite Track European Championships scheduled in Minsk in June 2021. On 1 June, it was announced that the championships would go ahead in the second week of October 2021. Belarus hosting controversy In March 2021 the Belarusian Sport Solidarity Foundation urged the European Cycling Union to relocate the event from Belarus on human rights grounds. A UCI Women's Team is a women's road bicycle team sanctioned by the International Cycling Union ( UCI). These teams compete in the major women's bicycle races including the UCI Women's World Tour. The country designation of each team is determined by the country of registration of the most its riders, and is not necessarily the country where the team is registered or based. Herne Hill Velodrome
The Herne Hill Velodrome is an outdoor velodrome in Herne Hill, in south London. It is one of the oldest cycling tracks in the world, having been built in 1891. It hosted the track cycling events in the 1948 Summer Olympics and was briefly the home of Crystal Palace Football Club during World War I. Between 1987, when the track at Paddington Recreation Ground was demolished, and 2011, when the London Velopark for the 2012 Summer Olympics opened, Herne Hill was the only track in London.
