Former Ghosts
Former Ghosts is a project of Freddy Ruppert, former member of This Song Is a Mess But So Am I, with loose collaborations from multiple people including Xiu Xiu frontperson Jamie Stewart, Zola Jesus originator Nika Roza Danilova, Yasmine Kittles of Tearist, Annie Lewandowski of Powerdove, and Carla Bozulich. Past live incarnations have included Jherek Bischoff and Sam Mickens. Ruppert is the lead songwriter on this project. The title of the debut, ''Fleurs'', is a reference to the white-flowered iris ('' Iris germanica''). Formation From an interview, Ruppert explained the formation of the band: Critical reception ''Pitchfork'' said the debut single, "Hold On", "sounds like what might've happened to Joy Division if Ian Curtis had bought a Casio and a four-track and fired the rest of the band." Synthpop

Upset The Rhythm is an independent record label based in London with a varied roster of leftfield artists and bands; they also operate as a diverse DIY live music promoter. Huw Stephens featured Upset The Rhythm as "purveyors of interesting indie" on his BBC Radio 1 show (24 November 2011) as part of his ongoing 'Label Of Love' feature. As of 2015, Upset The Rhythm had 85 releases. History Upset The Rhythm initially formed in 2003 while its members were organising a concert for Deerhoof. They have appeared in other bands, including XXL, Former Ghosts, and Sal Mineo. Xiu Xiu
Xiu Xiu ( ) is an American experimental rock band, formed in 2002 by singer-songwriter Jamie Stewart in San Jose, California. Currently, the line-up consists of multi-instrumentalists Stewart (the only constant member since formation), Angela Seo, and percussionist David Kendrick. The band's name comes from the Chinese film '' Xiu Xiu: The Sent Down Girl'', which has influenced the sound of their music, according to Stewart. Nika Roza Danilova (born Nicole Rose Hummel; April 11, 1989), known professionally by her stage name Zola Jesus, is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer. Her music has been noted for combining elements of electronic, industrial, classical, and goth.
