Final Destination (film Series)
''Final Destination'' is an American horror franchise that includes six films, ten novels, and two comic books. It is based on an unproduced spec script by Jeffrey Reddick, originally written for the television series ''The X-Files''. All of its films' plots are based on the premise of a small group of people who escape impending death after one visionary individual has a sudden premonition and warns them about a major disaster that is about to occur. After avoiding their foretold deaths seen in the visions, the survivors are later killed one by one in bizarre accidents caused by an unseen force, described as Death itself, that creates complicated chains of cause and effect, resembling Rube Goldberg machines. The visionary then reads omens in an attempt to again avert the deaths of the survivors. Jeffrey Reddick
Jeffrey Reddick (born July 12, 1969) is an American screenwriter and film director, best known for creating the ''Final Destination'' franchise. Early life Reddick was born in Jackson, Kentucky and attended Breathitt County High School. He studied at Berea College. When Reddick was fourteen, he wrote a ten-page treatment of a prequel to ''A Nightmare on Elm Street'' and sent it to New Line Cinema. The studio did not accept unsolicited material, and it was returned unread. Reddick proceeded to contact studio founder Robert Shaye and asked him to read the treatment. Shaye read it and responded. This was the beginning of a letter-and-phone relationship with Shaye and his assistant that lasted for years. Personifications Of Death
Personifications of death are found in many religions and mythologies. In more modern stories, a character known as the Grim Reaper (usually depicted as a berobed skeleton wielding a scythe) causes the victim's death by coming to collect that person's soul. Adam Stein
Adam Stein is an American film director and screenwriter working in Vancouver, British Columbia and Los Angeles, California. Stein graduated from Harvard University and the directing program at the USC School of Cinematic Arts. His screenplay for the film '' Arrival'' earned him a Best Adapted Screenplay nomination at the 89th Academy Awards in 2016.
