Fillmore East
The Fillmore East was Promoter (entertainment), rock promoter Bill Graham (promoter), Bill Graham's rock venue on Second Avenue (Manhattan), Second Avenue near 6th Street (Manhattan), East 6th Street on the Lower East Side section of Manhattan, now called the East Village, Manhattan, East Village, in New York City. The venue was open from March 8, 1968, to June 27, 1971, and featured some of the biggest acts in rock music of that time. The Fillmore East was a companion to Graham's The Fillmore, Fillmore Auditorium, and its successor, the Fillmore West, in San Francisco. Chicago is an American rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois, in 1967. Self-described as a "rock and roll band with horns," their songs often also combine elements of classical music, jazz, R&B, and pop music. The Buddy Miles Express was a musical group fronted by American drummer and vocalist Buddy Miles. It was formed after the 1968 breakup of Miles's earlier group, Electric Flag. The Mothers of Invention (also known as the Mothers) were an American rock music, rock band from California. Formed in 1964, their work is marked by the use of sonic experimentation, innovative album art, and elaborate live shows. Originally an R&B band called the Soul Giants, the band's first lineup comprised Ray Collins (rock musician), Ray Collins, David Coronado, Ray Hunt, Roy Estrada, and Jimmy Carl Black. ''Band of Gypsys'' is a live album by Jimi Hendrix and the first without his original group, the Jimi Hendrix Experience.
