Favio Chavez
Favio Hernán Chávez Morán (born December 5, 1975), is an Argentinian musician, environmental technician, and director of the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura, since 2012. He has served as director of the music school of Carapeguá and departmental coordinator of the programSounds of the Earth, from 2002 to 2011; as well as Academic Coordinator of the project created by the Paraguayan teacher Luis Szarán, from 2008 to October 2011. He worked as an environmental educator of the program "Procicla", of NGOs "Alter Life" and "Geam", in the Cateura landfill of Asunción, since February 2006 and resigned in March 2007. He was later named "Sounds of the Earth" as supervisor of the workshop of lutería in Cateura, that opened in May 2007, in charge of the luthier Carlos Uliambre. Recycled Orchestra Of Cateura
The Recycled Orchestra of Cateura (), also known as the Recycled Orchestra, is an orchestra composed of children from Asunción, Paraguay who play musical instruments made from scrap materials collected from Asunción's Cateura landfill. Formed in 2012, the orchestra has performed internationally with Stevie Wonder and the American heavy-metal bands Metallica and Megadeth. Carapeguá
Carapeguá (, '' Guaraní: Karapegua'') is a city and ''district'' of the Paraguarí Department, Paraguay, located 84 km from Asunción. It was founded in 1725. Luis Szarán
Luis Szarán (born 24 September 1953) is a Paraguayan musician, orchestra director, composer and musical researcher; since 2002, founder and director of the social and community integration program "'Sounds of the Earth''", which created the school of music where began the Recycled Orchestra of Cateura. Since 1978, he has been conducting the Symphony Orchestra of the City of Asunción (OSCA, in Spanish means "Orquesta Sinfónica de la Ciudad de Asunción"), which he has held since 1990; and the Phylomusica Orchestra of Asunción. He has also directed plays of his own in numerous international festivals and has obtained the National Award of Music, given by the National Parliament in 1997.
