Fallen (upcoming TV Series)
''Fallen'' is English-language romantic fantasy television series, based on Lauren Kate's 2009 novel of the same name. It was developed by Silver Reel and Night Train Media for Brazil's Globoplay. It was first aired on Globoplay on 12 August 2024 and around the world in fall of 2024. Cast Production It was reported in February 2021 that a television adaptation of Lauren Kate's novel was in development. The eight-part series was confirmed to have been picked up by Brazil's Globoplay in September 2022, with Claudia Bluemhuber of the Zurich-based production company Silver Reel attached as Executive Producer. Bluemhuber had previously worked as a producer on the 2016 film adaptation. Matt Hastings would show-run and direct the series with Rachel Paterson and Roland Moore writing it. ''Fallen'' is the first novel in the ''Fallen'' series written by Lauren Kate. It is a young adult, fantasy, paranormal romance published in 2009 under Delacorte Press. The novel revolves around a young girl named Lucinda "Luce" Price who is sent to Sword & Cross Reform School in Savannah, Georgia, after she is accused of murdering a boy by starting a fire. At the reform school, she meets Daniel, a handsome boy whom she feels inexplicably drawn to, and believes that she has already met before. The book revolves mostly around the concept of religion, fallen angels and reincarnation. ''Fallen'' is the first in a series of six books, which have sold more than 10 million copies worldwide in more than 30 countries. New adult (NA) fiction is a developing genre of fiction with protagonists in the 18–29 age bracket. Globoplay is a subscription video on-demand over-the-top streaming service owned by Grupo Globo. The service primarily distributes films and television series produced by Estúdios Globo with the service also hosting content from other providers, content add-ons, live sporting events, and video rental and purchasing services. It was created on October 26, 2015, and launched in Brazil on November 3 of the same year. In 2020, it reached the milestone of 20 million registered users and became the most used national streaming service in Brazil. Lauren Kate (born March 21, 1981) is an American author of adult and young adult fiction.
