Jimi Jamison
Jimmy Wayne Jamison (August 23, 1951 – September 1, 2014) was an American singer. Best known as Jimi Jamison, he earned recognition as the frontman for the rock bands Target (American band), Target, Cobra (American band), Cobra, and Survivor (band), Survivor from 1984 to 1989, performing the songs "Burning Heart (song), Burning Heart" from the film ''Rocky IV'', "The Moment of Truth (Survivor song), The Moment of Truth" from ''The Karate Kid'', along with other top-20 Survivor hits "I Can't Hold Back", "High on You (Survivor song), High On You", "The Search Is Over" and "Is This Love (Survivor song), Is This Love". He officially rejoined Survivor in 2000, remaining in the group until 2006, only to rejoin again in 2011. Acclaimed for his vocal abilities, Jamison is also known for having co-written and performed the theme song "I'm Always Here" for the 1990s TV series ''Baywatch''. Jim Peterik
James Michael Peterik ( ; born November 11, 1950) is an American musician and songwriter. He is best known as the founder of the rock band Survivor, as vocalist and songwriter of "Vehicle" by the Ides of March, and as co-writer of the anthem " Eye of the Tiger", the theme from the 1982 film ''Rocky III''. Peterik has co-written songs for 38 Special ("Rockin' into the Night",, " Hold On Loosely and "Caught Up in You"), Lynyrd Skynyrd, Blackhawk, Cheap Trick, Sammy Hagar (" Heavy Metal"), Cathy Richardson, Dennis DeYoung, Van Zant, Brian Wilson, REO Speedwagon, and The Beach Boys. He is currently fronting the band Pride of Lions, and an entire album of women of Rock and Roll called Tigress and smooth jazz project Jim Peterik's Lifeforce, and has a regular series of yearly concert performances with an all-star cast as World Stage. Album-oriented rock (AOR, originally called album-oriented radio) is an FM radio format created in the United States in the 1970s that focuses on the full repertoire of rock albums and is currently associated with classic rock. Album-oriented radio was originally established by U.S. radio stations dedicated to playing album tracks by rock artists from the hard rock to progressive rock genres. In the mid-1970s, AOR was characterized by a layered, mellifluous sound and sophisticated production with considerable dependence on melodic hooks. ''Kimball Jamison'' is a duo album from the American rock singers Jimi Jamison ( Survivor) and Bobby Kimball ( Toto), released on October 14, 2011 by Frontiers Records. The album was produced by German bassist, singer and music producer Mat Sinner from Primal Fear. Alexander Beyrodt was the guitarist for the album. Jamison and Kimball finished the lead vocal recordings in Los Angeles while the instrumental part was recorded in Germany. Survivor (band)
Survivor is an American rock band formed in Chicago in 1978 by Jim Peterik and Frankie Sullivan. The band achieved its best success in the 1980s, producing many charting singles, especially in the United States. The band is best-known for their double-platinum-certified 1982 hit " Eye of the Tiger", the theme song for the 1982 motion picture ''Rocky III''; that single spent six weeks at number one in the US.
