Everett Silvertips
The Everett Silvertips are an American major junior ice hockey team currently members of the U.S. Division in the Western Conference of the Western Hockey League (WHL). The team is based in Everett, Washington, and joined the WHL as an expansion team for the 2003–04 season. The team name comes from the silvertip bear. The team plays at Angel of the Winds Arena, a $71.5 million multipurpose complex built in 2003 that seats 8,300 (or 8,513 with standing room only seats included) for hockey. The team's mascot is Lincoln, a silvertip bear, named after the aircraft carrier stationed at the time at Naval Station Everett. Notable NHL alumni from the team include Ryan Murray, Radko Gudas, Nikita Scherbak, Noah Juulsen, Byron Froese, Jujhar Khaira, Mirco Mueller, Zach Hamill and Carter Hart. Everett, Washington
Everett is the county seat and largest city of Snohomish County, Washington, United States. It is north of Seattle and is one of the main cities in the metropolitan area and the Puget Sound region. Everett is the seventh-largest city in the state by population, with 110,629 residents as of the 2020 census. The city is primarily situated on a peninsula at the mouth of the Snohomish River along Port Gardner Bay, an inlet of Possession Sound (itself part of Puget Sound), and extends to the south and west. The Port Gardner Peninsula was historically inhabited by the Snohomish people, who had a winter village named Hibulb near the mouth of the river. Modern settlement in the area began with loggers and homesteaders arriving in the 1860s, but plans to build a city were not conceived until 1890. Zach Hamill
Zachary Robert Hamill (born September 23, 1988) is a Canadian professional ice hockey centre who is currently playing for EC Bad Nauheim of the DEL2. Hamill was drafted in the first round, eighth overall by the National Hockey League (NHL)'s Boston Bruins in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Prior to turning professional, Hamill spent his entire Western Hockey League (WHL) career with the Everett Silvertips. Playing career Junior Hamill was drafted in the first round, third overall, by the Everett Silvertips in the 2003 WHL Bantam Draft. Shortly after on October 8, 2003, he made his Western Hockey League (WHL) debut against the Seattle Thunderbirds. Although playing in only four regular season games in the early part of the 2003–04 season, Hamill finished with two assists before being reassigned to the Port Coquitlam Buckaroos of the Pacific International Junior Hockey League (PIJHL).
