These are the lists of the individual statistical single game highs of the EuroLeague, which is the top-tier level European-wide professional club basketball league. The individual stats single game highs are broken down by sections of time, based on who organized the league and when certain statistics were officially counted. 1984–85 FIBA European Champions Cup
The 1984–85 FIBA European Champions Cup was the 28th season of the FIBA European Champions Cup club competition (now called EuroLeague). It was the first season of the competition that included the 3 point field goal. The Final was held at the Peace and Friendship Stadium in Piraeus, Greece, on April 3, 1985. Cibona won its first title, defeating Spanish side, Real Madrid, by a result of 87–78. Competition system * 25 teams (European national domestic league champions, plus the then current title holders), playing in a tournament system, played knock-out rounds on a home and away basis. The aggregate score of both games decided the winner. * The six remaining teams after the knock-out rounds entered a Semifinal Group Stage, which was played as a round-robin. Shane Larkin
DeShane Davis Larkin (born October 2, 1992) is an American-Turkish professional basketball player for Anadolu Efes of the Turkish Basketball Super League and the EuroLeague. He also represents the senior Turkish national team in international competition. He played college basketball for the University of Miami. He was selected by the Atlanta Hawks with the 18th overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft, where he was immediately traded to the Dallas Mavericks. He last played in the NBA in 2018 with the Boston Celtics. Larkin is the son of Hall of Fame baseball player Barry Larkin. Larkin holds the record for the most points scored in a single EuroLeague game since the 2000–01 season, with 49 points scored on November 29, 2019. Performance Index Rating (PIR)
Performance Index Rating (PIR) is a basketball mathematical statistical formula that is used by the Euroleague Basketball Company's first and second tier competitions, the EuroLeague and the EuroCup, as well as various European national domestic and regional leagues. It is a part of the Tendex basketball rating system. It is also variously referred to as Performance Index Ranking, Rating, Ranking, Evaluation, Valuation, and Efficiency. It is similar to, but not exactly the same as, the NBA's Efficiency (EFF) stat. History Performance Index Rating was created in 1991, by the Spanish ACB League, which started using it to determine the league's MVP of the Week and regular season MVP awards. In 2004, the ACB League changed the criteria by which it chooses the regular season MVP award, but it continues to use PIR to determine the MVP of each week of the season. Block (basketball)
In basketball, a block or blocked shot occurs when a defensive player legally deflects a field goal attempt from an offensive player to prevent a score. The defender is not allowed to make contact with the offensive player's hand (unless the defender is also in contact with the ball) or a '' foul'' is called. In order to be legal, the block must occur while the shot is traveling upward or at its apex. A deflected field goal that is made does not count as a blocked shot and simply counts as a successful field goal attempt for shooter plus the points awarded to the shooting team. For the shooter, a blocked shot is counted as a missed field goal attempt. Also, on a shooting foul, a blocked shot cannot be awarded or counted, even if the player who deflected the field goal attempt is different from the player who committed the foul.
