Erin Fehlau
Erin Fehlau (born 1973 in Massachusetts) is the weekday morning news anchor for WMUR in Manchester, New Hampshire. Fehlau also hosts NH Chronicle alongside WMUR's Sean McDonald. In 2020, she and the station were honored with a Granite Award. In an earlier job at WPXT in Portland, Maine, Fehlau broke the news about George W Bush's drunk driving arrest. For her reporting, she won the National Clarion Award and the station won a regional Edward R. Murrow Award. WMUR-TV (channel 9) is a television station licensed to Manchester, New Hampshire, United States, broadcasting ABC programming to most of New Hampshire. Owned by Hearst Television, the station maintains studios on South Commercial Street in downtown Manchester, and its transmitter is located on the south peak of Mount Uncanoonuc in Goffstown. Manchester is part of the larger Boston television market, making WMUR-TV part of a nominal duopoly with that city's ABC affiliate, WCVB-TV (channel 5); however, the two stations maintain separate operations. WPXT
WPXT (channel 51) is a television station in Portland, Maine, United States, affiliated with The CW. It is owned by Hearst Television alongside Poland Spring–licensed ABC affiliate WMTW (channel 8). Both stations share studios on Ledgeview Drive in Westbrook, while WPXT's transmitter is located in West Baldwin, Maine. History The station signed on September 14, 1986, as Maine's first independent station and the first new commercial station to launch in the Portland market in 32 years. After a few weeks as an independent, it became a charter affiliate with Fox on October 6. In 1996, the station's original owner, Bride Communications, entered bankruptcy and WPXT was sold to Pegasus Broadcasting. On October 7, 2001, WPXT switched to The WB; the deal, which also included WDBD in Jackson, Mississippi, came after renewal negotiations between Fox and Pegasus broke down.
