Ensenada (municipality)
The municipality ( es, link=no, municipio) of Ensenada is the fourth-largest municipality in Mexico with a land area of in 2020, about the same size as Hidalgo state and larger than five Mexican states. Located offshore, Cedros Island and Guadalupe Island are part of the municipality, making Ensenada the westernmost municipality in Mexico and Latin America. Incorporated on May 15, 1882 as the northern partido of the Baja California Territory, it became a municipality of the state of Baja California on December 29, 1953. The municipality shares borders with every other municipality in the state: Tijuana, Playas de Rosarito and Tecate to the north, Mexicali and San Felipe to the east and southeast and San Quintín to the south. San Felipe is the newest municipality in the Mexican state of Baja California. Inaugurated on 1 January 2022, it is located approximately south of Mexicali, the state capital. José de la Cruz Porfirio Díaz Mori ( or ; ; 15 September 1830 – 2 July 1915), known as Porfirio Díaz, was a Mexican general and politician who served seven terms as President of Mexico, a total of 31 years, from 28 November 1876 to 6 December 1876, 17 February 1877 to 1 December 1880 and from 1 December 1884 to 25 May 1911. The entire period from 1876 to 1911 is often referred to as Porfiriato and has been characterized as a ''de facto'' dictatorship. A veteran of the War of the Reform (1858–1860) and the French intervention in Mexico (1862–1867), Díaz rose to the rank of general, leading republican troops against the French-backed rule of Maximilian I. Punta Colonet (Chuwílo Ksaay (''dry arroyo'') in the Kiliwa language) is a town located in Ensenada Municipality, Baja California, Mexico. Located south of the city of Ensenada, the community is located in an agriculturally productive region of Baja California spurred on by its location along Mexican Federal Highway 1 and proximity to agricultural markets in the United States. Ejido Eréndira
Ejido Eréndira is a small community located in the municipality of Ensenada in the state of Baja California. It is 100 km south of the city of Ensenada. It has a population of 1,461 people most of whom make a living by fishing. Another approximately 1,500 seasonal residents have second homes here. However, in spite of this Eréndira is an isolated and undeveloped beach. The Valle de Guadalupe (Guadalupe Valley) is an area of Ensenada Municipality, Baja California, Mexico that is an increasingly popular tourist destination for wine and Baja Med cuisine. La Misión, Baja California
La Misión or Misión de San Miguel is a village in Baja California located on Mexican Federal Highway 1 approximately south of the San Ysidro border crossing on the Gold Coast of the Baja California peninsula. The census of 2010 reported a population of 920 inhabitants. The small town of Primo Tapia, located north, is the closest town to La Misión. In Mexico, some municipalities and Mexico City are divided into boroughs for administrative purposes. Boroughs are known as delegaciones, or in the case of Mexico City.
