Enric Sarasol
Enric Sarasol Soler (born 1964, in El Genovés), known as Sarasol I, was a professional Valencian pilota player. He retired in 2004 and for 3 years he was the Sports General Director of the Generalitat Valenciana, until 2007. He used to play Escala i corda matches with his brother Sarasol II, forming one of the stronger duos for 20 years. History He began playing Raspall as is usual in the Costera region. When he was 15 years old he replaced Fenollosa in an Escala i corda competition for youngsters and amazed everybody with his technique. Soon after that, he began playing against professional ''pilotaris'' in the Guadassuar trinquet, where he learnt to be a ''dauer''. On 1983 he first won a one-on-one match against Fredi, and later on he won Eusebio. On 1986 he was the runner-up of the first Trofeu Individual Bancaixa losing the final match against the almost invincible Genovés I. Álvaro Navarro Serra
Álvaro Navarro Serra ( Faura, 1973), simply known as Álvaro, is one of the main Valencian pilota professional players. He is one of the most reputed ''dauers'' due to his strong left hand and his professionality, and has got to be a member of the Valencian Pilota Squad. Now he is one of the stars of the ValNet company. Álvaro began playing Galotxa variant, but he is mostly known by his Escala i corda career, where he is the absolute ruler, both in Circuit Bancaixa teams and in Trofeu Individual Bancaixa one-on-one matches. On 2001 Álvaro led the Valencian Pilota Squad in the European Championship hold in the Netherlands, where the Valencians won the frontó and International game. He has also tripped to the Basque Country to play against renowned Basque pilotaris such as Agirre. Escala I Corda
Escala i corda (, "stairs and rope") is the most prestigious variant of Valencian pilota, and the only one apart from raspall to have professional players. History The "Escala i corda" variant began around 1910, when the player Nel de Murla settled a 1.80 m high rope in the middle of a trinquet and thus divided the courtfield in two sides. Until then, the midfield was variable, using the "ratlles" of the Llargues variant. Ball In "Escala i corda" a kind of ball called pilota de vaqueta (Catalan for ''little cow ball'') is used; it is a small and extremely fast ball, very tough, and bounces well. The name comes from the fact that it is made of cow leather. The dimensions of the ball for adult games are 42 mm diameter, 138 mm circumference, and 42 gr weight. Circuit Bancaixa
The Circuit Bancaixa (; "Bancaixa League"), officially Liga Profesional Escala i Corda, is the professional league of Valencian pilota. Circuit Bancaixa name is taken from its main sponsor, the Valencian Savings bank CaixaBank. During the period 1991–1992, it replaced the Campionat Nacional d'Escala i Corda, which had existed from 1952–1990. The league was initially created by the retired ''pilotari'' Alfred Hernando (aka ''Fredi''). The league, which originally just featured the best local players, has since expanded and gained prestige. Some famous former players include Sarasol I, Pigat II, and Álvaro. During the 2007-2008 sports season, eight teams participated for the first time, with three ''feridors'' and six replacing ''pilotaris''. Paco Cabanes Pastor
Francisco "Paco" Cabanes Pastor (20 December 1954 – 31 July 2021) was a Spanish professional Valencian pilota player known by his town's name, Genovés I, and who has begun a ''pilotaris'' saga with his son, ''José Cabanes, Genovés II''. He's been regarded as one of the best players of all time, along with ''El Nel de Murla'', ''Xiquet de Quart'', Julio Palau Lozano, Juliet d'Alginet and ''Antonio Reig, Rovellet'', and he deserved to be in the ''Honor Gallery'' of the Pelayo trinquet. He's also been a member of the Valencian Pilota Squad. Biography He was born on 20 December 1954 in Genovés, Valencia.
