Sitcom
A sitcom, a portmanteau of situation comedy, or situational comedy, is a genre of comedy centered on a fixed set of characters who mostly carry over from episode to episode. Sitcoms can be contrasted with sketch comedy, where a troupe may use new characters in each sketch, and stand-up comedy, where a comedian tells jokes and stories to an audience. Sitcoms originated in radio, but today are found mostly on television as one of its dominant narrative forms. John Dehner
John Dehner (DAY-ner) (born John Dehner Forkum, also credited Dehner Forkum; November 23, 1915February 4, 1992) was an American stage, radio, film, and television actor. From the late 1930s to the late 1980s, he amassed a long list of performance credits, often in roles as sophisticated con men, shady authority figures, and other smooth-talking villains. His credits just in feature films, televised series, and in made-for-TV movies number almost 300 productions. Dehner worked extensively as an actor radio during the latter half of that medium's "golden age", accumulating hundreds of additional credits on nationally broadcast series. Elroy Schwartz (June 23, 1923 – June 14, 2013) was an American comedy and television writer. Early life Schwartz was born in Passaic, New Jersey, on June 23, 1923. His brothers included Al Schwartz and Sherwood Schwartz. He moved to the Bronx with his family, where he attended school. He attended New York University and enlisted in the United States Air Force as an NYU student. He spent two years in the Air Force before moving to Los Angeles with his family. He wrote for radio in California and then moved back to New York City. He wrote for game shows in New York during the 1950s before returning to Los Angeles. Career Schwartz wrote for some of the best known comedians of the era, including Lucille Ball, Groucho Marx, and Bob Hope. Max Hodge (February 12, 1916 – August 17, 2007) was an American television writer who worked on shows including ''The Girl From U.N.C.L.E.'', ''CHiPS'' and '' Mission: Impossible'', and is perhaps best known for creating Mr. Freeze for '' Batman''. Bruce Kessler (born March 23, 1936) is an American racing driver and film and television director. Racing career Kessler was born in Seattle, Washington and grew up in Beverly Hills, California. He was the son of a clothing designer. In the early 1950s he started racing his mother's Jaguar XK120 in the Sports Car Club of America races at sixteen years old. He raced the road race courses at Paramount Ranch and Willow Springs in California. Robert Totten
Robert Charles Totten (February 5, 1937 – January 27, 1995) was an American television director, writer, and actor, best known for directing many '' Gunsmoke'' episodes between 1966 and 1971. Career In addition to directing, Totten also co-starred in ''Gunsmoke'' playing the role of Corley, opposite of Nehemiah Persoff, in the 1969 episode "The Mark of Cain," among other roles. As director, writer, and actor, Totten is a member all three guilds; the Directors Guild of America, the Writers Guild of America and the Screen Actors Guild.
