England U-19 Cricket Team
The England Under-19 cricket team have been playing official Under-19 Test matches since 1974. Prior to 1991/92 they were known as England Young Cricketers. Former captains include Mike Atherton, Michael Vaughan, Alastair Cook and Andrew Flintoff, who have all gone on to captain the senior national team in Test matches. Recent call-ups This lists all the players who have been selected for England under-19s since the start of the 2021 season and their most recent call-up. Jacob Bethell
Jacob Graham Bethell (born 23 October 2003) is a Barbadian born cricketer who plays for the England under 19s cricket team. Bethell was born in Barbados and moved to Warwickshire, England, when he was 12. He made his Twenty20 debut on 20 June 2021, for Warwickshire in the 2021 T20 Blast. Early life and career Bethell was born and raised in Barbados. He attended Harrison College, whose alumni include Sir Clyde Walcott, and was awarded player of the tournament in the West Indies Under-15 competition in 2017. Such performances earned him a scholarship at Rugby School, where he was coached by their director of cricket and former Warwickshire captain Mike Powell. He played cricket with Warwickshire from a young age, and Bethell signed a three-year professional contract with Warwickshire in January 2021. Left-arm Orthodox Spin
Left-arm orthodox spin, Left-arm off spin also known as slow left-arm orthodox spin bowling, is a type of left-arm finger spin bowling in the sport of cricket. Left-arm orthodox spin is bowled by a left-arm bowler using the fingers to spin the ball from right to left of the cricket pitch (from the bowler's perspective). Left-arm orthodox spin bowlers generally attempt to drift the ball in the air into a right-handed batsman, and then turn it away from the batsman (towards off-stump) upon landing on the pitch. The drift and turn in the air are attacking techniques. The stock delivery of a left-arm orthodox spin bowler is the left-arm orthodox spinner. Worcestershire County Cricket Club
Worcestershire County Cricket Club is one of eighteen first-class county clubs within the domestic cricket structure of England and Wales. It represents the historic county of Worcestershire. Its Vitality Blast T20 team has been rebranded the Worcestershire Rapids, but the county is known by most fans as 'the Pears'. The club is based at New Road, Worcester. Founded in 1865, Worcestershire held minor status at first and was a prominent member of the early Minor Counties Championship in the 1890s, winning the competition three times.
