Emily McAsey (born March 14, 1978) is a former Democratic member of the Illinois House of Representatives. A lawyer and teacher, she defeated Brent Hassert in November 2008 to become the state representative from Illinois's 85th House District. The district serves a suburban area north of Joliet along Illinois's Interstate 55 Interstate 55 (I-55) is a major Interstate Highway in the central United States. Interstate 55
Interstate 55 (I-55) is a major Interstate Highway in the central United States. As with most primary Interstates that end in a five, it is a major cross-country, north–south route, connecting the Gulf of Mexico to the Great Lakes. The highway travels from LaPlace, Louisiana, at I-10 to Chicago, Illinois, at U.S. Route 41 (US 41, Lake Shore Drive), at McCormick Place. The major cities that I-55 connects to are (from south to north) New Orleans, Louisiana; Jackson, Mississippi; Memphis, Tennessee; St. Louis, Missouri; and Chicago, Illinois. Joliet, Illinois
Joliet ( ) is a city in Will and Kendall counties in the U.S. state of Illinois, southwest of Chicago. It is the county seat of Will County. At the 2020 census, the city was the third-largest in Illinois, with a population of 150,362. Brent Hassert was a Republican member of the Illinois House of Representatives, representing the 85th district where he served from 1993 until January 2009. He served as Deputy House Republican Leader. Hassert was the owner of Hassert Landscaping. He was elected to the Will County Board in the 1988 general election.
