Eddie Tamblyn
Edward Francis Tamblyn (January 5, 1908 – June 22, 1957) was an American actor. He was the father of actor Russ Tamblyn and keyboardist Larry Tamblyn (The Standells), and the grandfather of actress Amber Tamblyn. Born in Yonkers, New York, the son of Edna (née Brown; 1883–1975) and Joseph Tamblyn (1878–1941), he became an actor in the 1930s and made uncredited roles in some movies. Tamblyn died at the age of 49 in Hollywood, California on June 22, 1957. Yonkers () is a city in Westchester County, New York, United States. Developed along the Hudson River, it is the third most populous city in the state of New York, after New York City and Buffalo. The population of Yonkers was 211,569 as enumerated in the 2020 United States Census. The Sweetheart Of Sigma Chi
Often called the most beloved and popular of college fraternity songs, "The Sweetheart of Sigma Chi" was written in 1911 by Byron D. Stokes ( Albion Class of 1913) and F. Dudleigh Vernor (Albion '14). Stokes had written the words while in class one June day that year, and presented them that afternoon to Vernor, who was practicing the piano in a local house, and composed the music at that time. The song has since become a favorite among ballroom orchestras and was used in two movie musicals of the same name, in 1933 and 1946. When asked about the song's inspiration, Stokes replied, "The 'Sweetheart' is the symbol for the spiritual ingredient in brotherhood. It was the Sigma Chi fraternity itself that inspired the song. I wrote the words not long after my initiation, and the magic of our Ritual with its poetic overtones and undertones was, I suppose, the source of my inspiration". ''Harold Teen'' is a discontinued, long-running American comic strip written and drawn by Carl Ed (pronounced "eed"). Publisher Joseph Medill Patterson may have suggested and certainly approved the strip's concept, loosely based on Booth Tarkington's successful novel '' Seventeen''. The strip ran from 1919 to 1959.
