Eastern Lipo (Black Lisu, Heipo, Lipoo) are a Lipo-speaking ethnic group of China. Lipo is a Burmic language. They officially are included with either the Yi people or the Lisu people. They live in Yunnan and Sichuan provinces, mainly in Wuding and Yuanmou Yuanmou County (; Chuxiong Yi script: , IPA: ) is under the administration of the Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture, in the north of Yunnan province, China, bordering Sichuan province to the north. Lipo Language
Lipo (autonym: '; ), or Eastern Lisu, is a language of the Lisu people of China, similar to but not intelligible with Lisu proper. Some Lipo are classified by the government as Lisu, others as Yi. In some areas, the people prefer the name ''Lolopo'' or ''Lolongo''. The Yi or Nuosu people,; zh, c=彝族, p=Yízú, l=Yi ethnicity historically known as the Lolo,; vi, Lô Lô; th, โล-โล, Lo-Lo are an ethnic group in China, Vietnam, and Thailand. The Lisu people ( Lisu: ; my, လီဆူလူမျိုး, ; ; th, ลีสู่) are a Tibeto-Burman ethnic group who inhabit mountainous regions of Myanmar (Burma), southwest China, Thailand, and the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh.
