EMS Stadium
The EMS Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Kozhikode, Kerala, India. It is currently used mostly for football matches. The stadium is currently home of I-League side Gokulam Kerala FC, together with Indian Women's League side Gokulam Kerala FC (women). It could hold more than 50,000 spectators and was built in 1977. The stadium is named after communist leader E.M.S. Namboodiripad who was the first Chief Minister of Kerala. Renovations The stadium was reconstructed and reopened in February 2005 by hosting the home matches of SBT in the national football league. The stadium has installed improved floodlight. It is renovated as international stadium for football and cricket. The stadium may also be leased to Kerala Cricket Association while Kerala Football Association would like the stadium in their possession. Gokulam Kerala FC (women)
Gokulam Kerala FC Women is an Indian women's football section of Gokulam Kerala FC, based in Calicut, Kerala. They participated in Indian Women's League, the women's premier football league in India. They won the first IWL In 2019–20. They then retained the title in 2021–22. In 2021, they became the first club to represent India in AFC Women's Club Championship. Crest The club logo incorporates elements from historical Theyyam, a famous ritual art form that originated in northern Kerala. It encompasses dance, mime and music. Gokulam Kerala Football Club is an Indian professional football club based in Calicut, Kerala. Founded in 2017, the club competes in the I-League, the second tier of Indian football league system. They won the 2020–21 I-League to become the first ever club from Kerala to win an I-League title, and became the first team to defend the I-League title in 2021–22 season. Viva Kerala Football Club (also known as Chirag United Club Kerala) was an Indian professional association football club based in the city of Kochi, Kerala, India. The club was originally formed in 2004, as ''Viva Kerala''. Sait Nagjee Football Tournament
The Sait Nagjee All India Football Tournament is one of the most prestigious football Tournaments held in Kozhikode, Kerala, India. The tournament was very popular from the beginning & attracted large crowd since 1952. The tournament played until 1995 regularly though with stoppages a couple of times. In 1995, the tournament was won by JCT Mills. Since 1995, there was a gap of 21 years during which the tournament was not held. Due to various reasons including the predominance gained by cricket, lack of support from the government and the escalation of real estate costs made football less popular. The tournament was revived again in 2016 with clubs from different parts of the world and Argentina U-23 national team. Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho is the brand ambassador for the tournament. The TSV 1860 Munich II (german: TSV 1860 München II) is the reserve team of German football club TSV 1860 Munich, from the city of Munich, Bavaria. The Nehru Cup was an international association football tournament organised by the All India Football Federation (AIFF), named after the first Prime Minister of India, Jawaharlal Nehru. It was launched in 1982, but was not held from 1998 to 2006. The Argentina Olympic football team (Argentina U-23 since 1992) represents Argentina in international football competitions during Olympic Games and Pan American Games. The selection is limited to players under the age of 23, except three overage players. The team is controlled by the Argentine Football Association (AFA). The first participation of Argentina in Olympic tournaments was in 1928, when the team was runner-up to champions Uruguay at the Games held in Amsterdam.
