Ministro Pistarini International Airport () , also known as Ezeiza International Airport owing to its location in Ezeiza in Greater Buenos Aires, is an international airport south-southwest of the autonomous city of Buenos Aires, the capital city of Argentina. Covering , it is one of two commercial airports serving Buenos Aires and its metropolitan area, along with Aeroparque Jorge Newbery. Pistarini Airport is the country's largest international airport by number of passengers handled—85% of international traffic—and is a hub for international flights of , which operates domestic services from the airport as well. It has been operated by Aeropuertos Argentina 2000 S.A. since 1998. Greater Buenos Aires (, GBA), also known as the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (, AMBA), refers to the urban area, urban agglomeration comprising the Buenos Aires, Autonomous City of Buenos Aires and the adjacent 24 ''partidos of Buenos Aires, partidos'' (districts) in the Buenos Aires Province, Province of Buenos Aires. Thus, it does not constitute a single administrative unit. The conurbation spreads south, west and north of Buenos Aires city. To the east, the Río de la Plata, River Plate serves as a natural boundary. Urban sprawl, especially between 1945 and 1980, created a vast metropolitan area of over 3,800 km² (1,500 mi²) – or 19 times the area of Buenos Aires proper. Ezeiza Massacre
The Ezeiza massacre () took place on June 20, 1973, at Puente 12, the intersection of General Ricchieri freeway (the Ezeiza Airport access) and Camino de Cintura (provincial route 4), some 10 km from Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Peronist masses, including many young people, had gathered there to acclaim Juan Perón's definitive return from an 18-year exile in Spain. The police estimated three and a half million people had gathered at the airport. In his plane, Perón was accompanied by president Héctor Cámpora, a representative of Peronism's left wing, who had come to power on May 25, 1973, amid popular euphoria and a period of political turmoil. Cámpora was opposed to the Peronist right wing, declaring during his first speech that "the spilled blood will not be negotiated". Eze (pronounced ) is an Igbo word which means King. Such titles as Igwe, Ezeike and '' Obi'', plus others, are used by Igbos as crown title. Igwe is derived from the Igbo word ''Igwekala'' or ''Eluigwekala'', "the sky or heaven above the sky is higher or bigger than land", implying that the Eze is a higher servant of the people. ''Obi'' usually refers to the centre building for receiving visitors within an Igbo leader's or man's homestead. When used as a title of respect for the Eze, ''Obi'' implies: "the one who sits in the throne house or heart of the Kingdom." In Igbo tradition and culture, the Eze is normally an absolute monarch advised by a council of chiefs or elders whom he appoints based on their good standing within the community. A popular saying in Igbo is ''"Igbo enwe eze"'', which translates to "the Igbo have no king."
