Heroes Manga Madrid, born as ''Salón del manga de Madrid'' and later on, ExpoManga (officially es, Salón Internacional del Manga de Madrid) was a Spanish anime and manga convention held annually in Madrid. Coupled with the ''Heroes Comic Madrid'' (known previously as Expocomic) and it became the second largest anime convention in Spain after the Salón del Manga de Barcelona. Organized at first by AEAC, was later on bought by the Dutch company EasyFairs, then Conceptum!. It was held in several locations during its first years, then it settled in Madrid's Casa de Campo fairground, to be moved into the IFEMA Ifema (short for ''Institución Ferial de Madrid; "''Fair Institution of Madrid") is an entity charged with the organisation of fairs, halls and congresses in their facilities in Madrid. An anime convention is an event or gathering with a primary focus on anime, manga and Japanese culture. Commonly, anime conventions are multi-day events hosted at convention centers, hotels or college campuses. They feature a wide variety of activities and panels, with a larger number of attendees participating in cosplay than most other types of fan conventions. Casa De Campo
The Casa de Campo (, for Spanish: ''Country House'') is the largest public park in Madrid. It is situated west of central Madrid, Spain. It gets its name 'Country House' because it was once a royal hunting estate, located just west of the Royal Palace of Madrid. It was created in the early 16th century for use by the royal family and nobility, and was opened to the public in 1931 when it became a public park. IFEMA
Ifema (short for ''Institución Ferial de Madrid; "''Fair Institution of Madrid") is an entity charged with the organisation of fairs, halls and congresses in their facilities in Madrid. It is a consortium partnered by the Ayuntamiento de Madrid (31 %), the regional administration of the Community of Madrid (31 %), the Madrid Chamber of Commerce and Industry (31 %) and the Montemadrid Foundation. The first fair organised by Ifema took place in 1980. Until then Madrid did not celebrate fairs, as it was a privilege reserved to cities such as Valencia or Barcelona. Initially IFEMA had facilities in the Paseo de la Castellana and the Casa de Campo, but as it grew bigger, new facilities were opened in the Campo de las Naciones near the Barajas Airport in 1991.
