Everett Railroad 11
Everett Railroad No. 11 is a 2-6-0 "Mogul" type steam locomotive. It was built in 1920 by the American Locomotive Company's Cooke Works for export to Cuba, but it remained in the United States and was sold to the Narragansett Pier Railroad in 1923. It was later operated by the Bath and Hammondsport Railroad until 1949. The locomotive was acquired by the Rail City museum in New York State in 1955, where it hauled excursion trains until 1972. In 1977, No. 11 returned to the Narragansett Pier Railroad and was partially restored, then was sold to the Middletown and New Jersey Railroad, where it was stored indoors. In 2006, No. 11 was purchased by the Everett Railroad, who sent it to the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad's shops for a complete restoration. In October 2015, the restoration was completed, and No. 11 began hauling tourist trains for the Everett Railroad. In 2022, the locomotive was converted from coal to oil firing. The American Locomotive Company (often shortened to ALCO, ALCo or Alco) was an American manufacturer that operated from 1901 to 1969, initially specializing in the production of locomotives but later diversifying and fabricating at various times diesel generators, automobiles, steel, tanks, munitions, oil-production equipment, as well as heat exchangers for nuclear power plants. A train wheel or rail wheel is a type of wheel specially designed for use on railway tracks. Pennsylvania Railroad 1361 is a K4 class 4-6-2 "Pacific" type steam locomotive built in May 1918 by the Pennsylvania Railroad's (PRR) Juniata Shops in Altoona, Pennsylvania. It hauled mainline passenger trains in Pennsylvania and commuter trains in the northern New Jersey Shore on the PRR until its retirement from revenue service in 1956. Afterwards, in 1957, it was refurbished and put on static display next to the PRR's famous Horseshoe Curve in Blair County, Pennsylvania. Restored to operating condition for excursion service in 1987, No. 1361 and its other surviving fellow K4 locomotive, No. 3750, were designated as the official state steam locomotives by the Pennsylvania General Assembly. Plymouth Locomotive Works was a US builder of small railroad locomotives. All Plymouth locomotives were built in a plant in Plymouth, Ohio until 1997 when the company was purchased by Ohio Locomotive Crane and production moved to Bucyrus, Ohio in 1999.
