Evelio Boal
Evelio Boal López (Valladolid, 11 May 1884 – Barcelona, 18 June 1921) was a Spanish graphic designer, trade unionist and anarchism, anarchist. He was one of the organizers of the :ca:Congrés de Sants, Congress of Sants of the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo, National Confederation of Labour, forming part of the commission that wrote the report. Biography Evelio Boal was born in Valladolid on 11 May 1884. At a very young age he went to live in Barcelona, where he worked as a typographer. By 1908 he was already a member of the board of the Union of the Art of Printing and launched the strike against ''El Progreso (newspaper), El Progreso'', an organ of Alejandro Lerroux's Radical Republican Party. The General Secretary or Secretary General of the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo is the head of the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (National Confederation of Labour; CNT), a Spanish confederation of anarcho-syndicalist trade unions. The position is elected by a congress or plenary session of the confederation. The position's powers are limited to technical and administrative affairs. Since the confederation does not have fixed headquarters, the elected General Secretary's local federation becomes the confederation's central operations and a local plenary session of the local federation chooses the secretariats for other leadership positions. Together they are known as the ''Secretariado Permanente del Comité Confederal'' (Permanent Secretariat of the Confederal Committee, or SPCC). Salvador Seguí i Rubinat (23 September 1887, in Lleida – 10 March 1923, in Barcelona), known as ''El noi del sucre'' ("the sugar boy" in Catalan) for his habit of eating the sugar cubes served him with his coffee, was a Catalan anarcho-syndicalist in the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (CNT), a Spanish confederation of anarcho-syndicalist labor unions. Anarchist communism is a far-left political ideology and anarchist school of thought that advocates communism. It calls for the abolition of private real property but retention of personal property and collectively-owned items, goods, and services. Manuel Buenacasa Tomeo (1886–1964) was a Spanish militant anarchist, general secretary and chronicler of the Confederación Nacional del Trabajo (CNT) and Federación Anarquista Ibérica (FAI) trade unions. Career Buenacasa was born on 7 July 1886, in the Spanish town of Caspe, where he started school. He trained for priesthood in a Franciscan seminary in Villanueva del Aceral, but left as a late teen to become a carpenter in his home province. He kept this trade for the remainder of his life. Buenacasa joined the province's carpenter union in 1906 and quickly became its president. He came to edit a regional anarchist newspaper, ''Cultura y Acción'', in 1910.
