Erica Mitchell
Erica Mitchell (born July 15, 1987) is a women's ice sledge hockey player that compete for the United States women's national ice sledge hockey team. Of note, she was named the captain for the US at the inaugural IPC Ice Sledge Hockey International Women's Cup, which saw the team capture the gold medal. Back in 2007, she had tried out for the United States national men's ice sledge hockey team. 2014 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey Women's International Cup
The 2014 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey Women's International Cup was an international women's sledge hockey tournament and the first IPC Ice Sledge Hockey Women's International Cup in history. The event was held from November 7–9, 2014, in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. Three teams took part: the Canada women's national ice sledge hockey team, a unified team from Europe, and the United States women's national ice sledge hockey team. The tournament was sanctioned by the International Paralympic Committee. The tournament became the Para Ice Hockey Women's World Challenge in 2022. United States Women's National Ice Sledge Hockey Team
The United States women's national ice sledge hockey team is the national team representing the United States in women's international sledge hockey. The team competed at the IPC International Cup and now competes at the Para Ice Hockey Women's World Challenge. Since the 2018-2019 season the team has been under the governance of USA Hockey. The team participated in its first International Paralympic Committee-sanctioned international competition, the 2014 IPC Ice Sledge Hockey Women's International Cup now known as the Para Ice Hockey Women's World Challenge (a World Para Ice Hockey sanctioned event) whose inaugural year was in 2022.
