Erdem Başçı (born 1966) is a Turkish people, Turkish economist and the former Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey in 2010s. Early life He was born in 1966 in Ankara. After finishing the high school at TED Ankara College in 1983, Erdem Başçı was educated in electrical engineering at the Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ), and graduated 1987 with a bachelor's degree. He received master's degrees in 1989 in business administration, and in 1990 in economics from Bilkent University, and in 1993 in economics from the Johns Hopkins University. In 1995, Erdem Başçı earned a PhD degree in economics from Bilkent University. He served between 1995 and 2003 as a member of the teaching staff at the Bilkent University, from 1999 on as an associate professor of economics. Nazim Erdem, (born 1 August 1970) is an Australian wheelchair rugby Paralympic gold and silver medalist. He has won two gold and two silver medals at five Paralympics from 2000 to 2016. Personal Nazim Erdem was born on 1 August 1970 in the Turkish city of Kayseri and later immigrated to Australia with his family. He became a quadriplegic at the age of 20 after diving off a pier into shallow water in an effort to impress some watching girls. As a youngster, he practiced holding his breath and could hold it for up to three minutes. His ability to hold his breath for a long period of time saved his life as he was under water for two-and-a-half minutes before he was rescued. Erdem Helvacioglu (born 22 May 1975 in Bursa, Turkey) is an electronic musician from Turkey. He has collaborated with artists Mick Karn, Kevin Moore, John Wilson, Kazuya Ishigami, and Saadet Turkoz. He also composes music for theatre, film and multimedia productions, and produces for popular and rock music bands in Turkey.
