Elinga-Mpango
Elinga-Mpango or Elingampango is a community in the Sankuru province of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Location Elinga-Mpango is in the Lomela Territory of Sankuru. It is on the right bank of the Tshuapa River. The Tshuapa has a navigable length of from its confluence with the Lomela River up to the terminus at Elinga-Mpango. From Bondo to Elinga-Mpango the river narrows and winds, and is not navigable all year round. The Tshuapa has cataracts above Elingampango, preventing further navigation. The village is in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Kole The Roman Catholic Diocese of Kole ( la, Kolen(sis)) is a diocese located in the city of Kole in the Ecclesiastical province of Kananga in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The Tshuapa River or Rivière Tshwapa is a river in Democratic Republic of the Congo, the main tributary of the Busira River. Course The river rises in the south of the Sankuru Nature Reserve and meanders north-northwest to Elinga-Mpango and on to Bondo, from where flows in a west-northwest direction to Boende, above its confluence with the Lomela River to form the Busira River. Sankuru
Sankuru is one of the 21 new provinces of the Democratic Republic of the Congo created in the 2015 repartitioning. Sankuru, Kasaï-Oriental, and Lomami provinces are the result of the dismemberment of the former Kasaï-Oriental province. Lomela River
The Lomela River is a river in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is one of the main tributaries of the Busira River, which forms where the Lomela meets the Tshuapa River. The Busira is in turn the main tributary of the Ruki River, which enters the Congo River to the north of Mbandaka. Location The Lomela River flows in a northwest direction from the Sankuru Nature Reserve and across the Salonga National Park. The Busira River forms a few miles west of Boende where the Lomela River joins the Tshuapa River from the left.
