El Gen Argentino
''El Gen Argentino'' (Spanish for "The Argentine Gene") is an Argentina, Argentine television programme aired on Telefe to determine who the public considered "the greatest Argentine in history". Premiered on 27 August 2007, it was a spin-off (media), spin-off of the 2002 ''100 Greatest Britons'' series produced by the BBC. The Top 10 were announced on launch night, with almost 350,000 votes cast. In subsequent episodes, two candidates were chosen via an Internet vote for each of the five categories: sports, popular culture and journalism, 19th century politics, 20th century politics, and arts, sciences and humanities. On the last airing of the show, one personality among them was declared the winner. Mario Pergolini
Mario Daniel Pergolini (born July 3, 1964, in Buenos Aires) is an Argentine journalist, media producer and businessman, best known as the former main host of the television show ''Caiga Quien Caiga'' (''CQC'') broadcast on Argentina's Telefe. He started working at the Rock & Pop radio of Buenos Aires. He moved to TV as a secondary figure at Pepe Eliaschev's ''Cable a tierra'' and then Juan Alberto Badía's ''Badía y Compañía''. In 1989 he hosted ''Rock and pop TV'' together with other radio figures. Probably his first successful TV shows were the teenager-rebel program ''La TV ataca'' (1991–1993) and ''Hacelo por mí'' (1992), but it was CQC (first aired in 1995) the most successful of them all. Formula One (also known as Formula 1 or F1) is the highest class of international racing for open-wheel single-seater formula racing cars sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). The Eva Perón Foundation was a charitable foundation begun by Eva Perón, a prominent Argentine political leader, when she was the First Lady and Spiritual Leader of the Nation of Argentina. It operated from 1948 to 1955. Inspiration and Beginnings Social welfare in Argentina was highly underdeveloped before Juan Perón was elected President in 1946 and his wife, who had been born into the working classes, was aware of this. Most charity work was undertaken by the Sociedad de Beneficencia, which was controlled by eighty-seven elderly women of the upper classes. The Cuban Revolution ( es, Revolución Cubana) was carried out after the 1952 Cuban coup d'état which placed Fulgencio Batista as head of state and the failed mass strike in opposition that followed. After failing to contest Batista in court, Fidel Castro organized an armed Attack on the Moncada Barracks, attack on the Cuban military's Moncada Barracks.
