Edwin Tong
Edwin Charles Tong Chun Fai. In this Chinese name, the family name is Tong. In accordance with custom, the Western-style name is Edwin Charles Tong and the Chinese-style name is Tong Chun Fai. (born 12 August 1969) is a Singaporean politician and lawyer who has been appointed as Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs concurrently in 2025. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he has been the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Joo Chiat division of East Coast GRC since 2025, and previously the Joo Chiat division of Marine Parade GRC between 2015 and 2025, and the Jalan Besar division of Moulmein–Kallang GRC between 2011 and 2015. 2011 Singaporean General Election
General elections were held in Singapore on 7 May 2011. President S. R. Nathan dissolved parliament on 19 April 2011 on the advice of Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Voting is mandatory in Singapore and is based on the first-past-the-post system. Elections are conducted by the Elections Department, which is under the jurisdiction of the Prime Minister's Office.
