Edwin Jack Fisher (August 10, 1928 – September 22, 2010) was an American singer and actor. He was one of the most popular artists during the 1950s, selling millions of records and hosting his own TV show, '' The Eddie Fisher Show''. Actress Elizabeth Taylor was best friends with Fisher's first wife, actress Debbie Reynolds. The couple divorced in 1959 when it was revealed shortly after Taylor's third husband, Mike Todd, died in a plane crash, that she and Fisher had been having an affair. News of the affair was a great public scandal which led to the cancellation of Eddie Fisher's television show. Fisher and Taylor married that same year. Gerald Sheldon Herman (July 10, 1931December 26, 2019) was an American composer and lyricist, known for his work in Broadway theatre. William "Mickey" Stevenson
William "Mickey" Stevenson (born January 4, 1937) is an American former songwriter and record producer for the Motown group of labels from the early days of Berry Gordy's company until 1967. Life and career He was born William Stevenson and, after spending his formative years recording doowop and gospel music, joined Tamla/Motown in 1959, the year it was founded. He was head of the A&R department there during the company's "glory" years of the mid-1960s when artists such as the Supremes, Marvin Gaye, the Temptations, Four Tops, Stevie Wonder and Martha and the Vandellas came to the fore. Dave Hamilton (musician)
David Lewis Hamilton (January 15, 1920 – August 9, 1994) was an American R&B and jazz musician and record producer in Detroit, Michigan. Life and career Dave Hamilton was born in Savannah, Georgia, and moved to Detroit with his parents as a child. He played guitar and vibraphone, and in the late 1930s toured as a member of the Helen Pennilton Quartet. In the 1940s he formed his own band, the Noc-Tunes, who recorded for the Sensation label. Hamilton remained active as a performer and session musician on the Detroit music scene, and from 1954 recorded several singles with a vocal group, the Peppers, released on the Checker label. He came to know Berry Gordy, and played on Jackie Wilson's hits "Reet Petite" (1957) and "Lonely Teardrops" (1958), which Gordy co-wrote and in the latter case produced. Clarence Otto Pauling (March 19, 1928 – May 6, 1995) better known and published as Clarence Paul, was an American songwriter and record producer who was best known for his career with Detroit's Motown Records. Early life and career Born in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on March 19, 1928, Paul was the son of Lowman Pauling and Arsula Price. His brother was guitarist/songwriter Lowman Pauling Jr. The two brothers co-founded The "5" Royales singing group. Their father was a coal miner in Bluefield, West Virginia, where the brothers listened to country music on the town's only radio station. In Winston-Salem, the brothers formed the gospel group the Royal Sons Quintet, later to become The "5" Royales. Oscar Greeley Clendenning Hammerstein II (; July 12, 1895 – August 23, 1960) was an American lyricist, librettist, theatrical producer, and director in musical theater for nearly 40 years. Anthony Peter Hatch (born 30 June 1939) is an English composer for musical theatre and television. He is also a songwriter, pianist, arranger and producer. Early life and early career Hatch was born in Pinner, Middlesex. Encouraged by his musical abilities, his mother – also a pianist – enrolled him in the London Choir School in Wansunt Road, Bexley, Kent when he was 10.
