Ed Tse-chun Young (; born November 28, 1931) is a Chinese-born American illustrator and writer of children's picture books. He won one Caldecott Medal for the year's best American picture book and for his lifetime contribution as a children's illustrator he was twice the U.S. nominee for the Hans Christian Andersen Award. Biography Ed Young was born on November 28, 1931 in Tianjin, China. When he was three years old, he and his family moved to Shanghai. His mother would ring a bell at mealtimes, and he would slide down the banister with his brothers and sisters. "I have never lost the child in me. Homer Edwin Young (born August 11, 1936), often called simply Ed Young, is senior pastor of the megachurch Second Baptist Church of Houston, Texas. He is father to sons Ed Young, pastor of Fellowship Church in Grapevine, Texas; Ben Young, associate pastor at Second Baptist Houston; and Cliff Young, director of Second Films and leader of the Christian folk/pop group Caedmon's Call. Early life and education Young was born on August 11, 1936 in Laurel in southeastern Mississippi to an impoverished family. He entered the University of Alabama at Tuscaloosa as an engineering major. Edward George Christopher Young (born 1989) is an English cricketer, a right-handed batsman and slow left-arm orthodox bowler who last played for Gloucestershire. He made his first-class debut for Oxford UCCE against Worcestershire in April 2009. Young signed a two-year development contract with Gloucestershire in August 2010 whilst also studying at Oxford Brookes University. The Young Skyheater is an American aircraft that was designed by Ed Young for homebuilt construction. Design and development The Skyheater is a two-seat, single engine, conventional landing gear-equipped, parasol wing aircraft. Rather than a separate distinct vertical tail section, the Skyheater fuselage is tapered only along its sides, leaving a square tail or full-height dorsal fin extending to the wing root. The fuselage is constructed of welded steel tubing with fabric covered control surfaces. Hugh Edwin Young (May 3, 1917 – January 2, 2012) served as Chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1968 to 1977 and President of the University of Wisconsin System from 1977 to 1980. An economist, Young graduated from the University of Maine and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. As UW Chancellor, Young presided over a campus divided by the Vietnam War and student protests.
