Roger Waters
George Roger Waters (born 6 September 1943) is an English musician, singer-songwriter and composer. In 1965, he co-founded the progressive rock band Pink Floyd. Waters initially served as the bassist, but following the departure of singer-songwriter Syd Barrett in 1968, he also became their lyricist, co-lead vocalist and conceptual leader until his departure in 1983. Pink Floyd achieved international success with the concept albums ''The Dark Side of the Moon'' (1973), ''Wish You Were Here'' (1975), ''Animals'' (1977), ''The Wall'' (1979), and '' The Final Cut'' (1983). ''In the Flesh – Live'' is a two-disc live album that captures performances from Roger Waters' three-year In the Flesh tour. Overview "My view is that I've been involved in two absolutely classic albums – ''The Dark Side of the Moon'' and ''The Wall''," Waters told ''Classic Rock''. "And if you haven't got ''Amused to Death'', you haven't got the full set. So this album – the live one, which pulls together songs from all three albums – hopefully redresses the balance." ''In The Flesh'' was a series of worldwide concert tours by Roger Waters that spanned three individual tours over the course of three years (1999, 2000, and 2002). Kosovo War
The Kosovo War was an armed conflict in Kosovo that started 28 February 1998 and lasted until 11 June 1999. It was fought by the forces of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (i.e. Serbia and Montenegro), which controlled Kosovo before the war, and the Kosovo Albanian rebel group known as the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). The conflict ended when the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) intervened by beginning air strikes in March 1999 which resulted in Yugoslav forces withdrawing from Kosovo. The KLA was formed in the early 1990s to fight against Serbian persecution of Kosovo Albanians, with the goal of uniting Kosovo into a Greater Albania.
