Don Valley North (french: Don Valley-Nord) is a federal electoral district (Canada), electoral district in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It has been represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1988 to 1997 and since 2015. Don Valley North covers the area of the City of Toronto bounded by Steeles Avenue , Steeles Avenue East to the north, Highway 401 (Ontario), Highway 401 to the south, Bayview Avenue to the west, and Victoria Park Avenue to the east. Former North York city council member Barbara Greene, a Progressive Conservative Party of Canada, Progressive Conservative, was elected as its first Member of Parliament in the 1988 election. She was defeated by Liberal Party of Canada, Liberal Sarkis Assadourian in the 1993 Canadian federal election, 1993 election. Han Peng Dong (; born ) is a Chinese-Canadian politician who was elected to represent the Electoral district (Canada), riding of Don Valley North in the 2019 Canadian federal election, 2019 federal election as a member of the Liberal Party of Canada. He was the Ontario Liberal Party, Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario for Trinity—Spadina (provincial electoral district), Trinity—Spadina from 2014 Ontario general election, 2014 until 2018. Background Dong was born in Shanghai. He moved to Toronto with his family when he was 13 and they settled in the Parkdale area of Toronto. He lives in Toronto with his wife Sophie and their two children. Dong worked as marketing director of Chianti Foods and then with the non-profit Canada Shanghai Business Association.
