The Don Johnson Memorial Cup, formerly Don Johnson Cup, is the Junior B ice hockey championship for Atlantic Canada, including Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island as of 2014. From 1982 until 1990 and 1997 until 2013, the Don Johnson Cup was emblematic of the Junior B championship of the Atlantic Provinces of Canada -- Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, New Brunswick, and Prince Edward Island. The cup is named in honour of Don Johnson, a sports enthusiast who dedicated his efforts to the growth of hockey in Atlantic Canada. Johnson, who died in 2012, awarded the first ever Don Johnson Cup in 1982 to his own son, a player for the St. John's Jr. Celtics. Keystone Cup
The Keystone Cup is the Junior B ice hockey championship and trophy for Western Canada. From 1983 to 2017, the championship was the culmination of the champions of 12 hockey leagues in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Northwestern Ontario. In 2018, citing costs for travel and accommodations, British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan withdrew from competition for the Keystone Cup, making it a championship between Manitoba and Northwestern Ontario. Hockey New Brunswick (HNB) is the governing body of all ice hockey in New Brunswick, Canada. Hockey New Brunswick is a branch of Hockey Canada. History The Maritime Amateur Hockey Association (MAHA) was granted a branch membership within the Canadian Amateur Hockey Association (CAHA) in 1928, with its jurisdiction including the Maritimes provinces of New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Western Red Wings
The Western Red Wings (officially the Arsenault's Fish Mart Western Red Wings due to sponsorship reasons) are a Canadian Junior B ice hockey team located in Abrams Village, Prince Edward Island. They play in the Island Junior Hockey League. Nathan Desroches serves as the team's head coach for the 2016–17 season, while their General Manager is JC Gallant. Recent history The Western Red Wings historically are the second most elite team in the IJHL, behind the repetitive champions the Kensington Vipers. They continuously make the league final, but rarely win the championship. They played in the 2015 Don Johnson Memorial Cup, the Maritime Junior hockey championship, when the tournament was played in Abrams Village. Sackville Blazers
The Sackville Blazers are a Canadian Junior ice hockey team from Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia. The Blazers play in the Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League and are the only team in history to have won three consecutive Don Johnson Cups as Maritime Junior B Champions. History The Sackville Blazers became a reality for the 1982/83 season. This came after seven years of hard work to gain entry into Junior hockey for Sackville. The Veitch Memorial Trophy is the Junior ice hockey Grand Championship of Newfoundland and Labrador. The trophy is awarded by Hockey Newfoundland and Labrador. History The trophy is named after Cyril Veitch a former executive of the Newfoundland Amateur Hockey Association. In the mid-1970s, Junior hockey in Newfoundland was granted Junior A classification. Tyne Valley is a rural municipality in Prince Edward Island, Canada. It is located in Prince County. Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League
The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League is a Junior ice hockey league operating in Eastern Ontario, Canada. The league is sanctioned by Hockey Eastern Ontario and Hockey Canada and acts as a second tier to the Central Canada Hockey League. The 16 member teams of the league compete for the Barkley Cup. Dating back to the 1960s, the league was known until 2015 as the Eastern Ontario Junior B Hockey League. The League was known from 2015 to 2020 as the Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2.
