Regions Of Uganda
The regions of Uganda are known as Central, Western, Eastern, and Northern. These four regions are in turn divided into districts. There were 56 districts in 2002, which expanded into 111 districts plus one city (Kampala) by 2010. The national government interacts directly with the districts, so regions do not have any definite role in administration. Under British rule before 1962, the regions were functional administrative units and were called provinces, headed by a Provincial Commissioner. The central region is the kingdom of Buganda, which then had a semi-autonomous government headed by the Kabaka (king). Daily Monitor
The ''Daily Monitor'' is a Ugandan independent daily newspaper. Its name is shared by the ''Saturday Monitor'' and ''Sunday Monitor'', which are also published by Monitor Publications Limited. Nakawa Division is one of the five administrative divisions of the city of Kampala, the capital and largest city of Uganda. The town of Nakawa is the site of the division headquarters. Makindye Division is one of the five administrative divisions of Kampala, the capital of Uganda, and the largest city in that country. The city's five divisions are: (a) Kampala Central Division (b) Kawempe Division (c) Lubaga Division (d) Makindye Division and (e) Nakawa Division. Kampala Central Division is one of the five divisions that make up Kampala, the capital of Uganda. Erias Lukwago
Erias Lukwago Ssalongo (born 11 May 1970), is a Ugandan lawyer and politician. He is the lord mayor of the city of Kampala, the capital of Uganda and the largest metropolitan area in the country. He was first elected to that position on 14 January 2011. He was voted out of office on 25 November 2013 by councillors after a tribunal found him guilty of incompetence and abuse of office. The Kampala Capital City Authority councillors voted 29 to 3 to impeach him. He was re-instated on 28 November 2013 after the high court judge Yasin Nyanzi ordered Kampala minister Frank Tumwebaze to stop the implementation of the tribunal report that paved way for his censure. In May 2021, Erias Lukwago was sworn in as lord mayor of Kampala, for the third term (2021 - 2026).
