Disneyland Dream
''Disneyland Dream'' (1956) is a home movie made by Robbins and Meg Barstow that documents their family's free trip to the newly opened Disneyland. The one-week trip was a prize they won in a contest sponsored by Scotch tape. The movie was shot with a 16 mm handheld camera. It lasts approximately 35 minutes. An audio track was added to the film in 1995. The Barstows lived in Wethersfield, Connecticut. They flew to California with TWA and stayed at the Huntington-Sheraton Hotel in Pasadena. They visited other Southern California locations, including Knott's Berry Farm, Hollywood, Grauman's Chinese Theatre, Beverly Hills, Universal Studios, Will Rogers' home and Catalina Island on their July 1956 trip. Stephen Glenn Martin (born August 14, 1945) is an American actor, comedian, writer, producer, and musician. Universal Studios Hollywood is a film studio and theme park in the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles County, California. A home movie is a short amateur film or video typically made just to preserve a visual record of family activities, a vacation, or a special event, and intended for viewing at home by family and friends. Originally, home movies were made on photographic film in formats that usually limited the movie-maker to about three minutes per roll of costly camera film. The vast majority of amateur film formats lacked audio, shooting silent film. The 1970s saw the advent of consumer camcorders that could record an hour or two of video on one relatively inexpensive videocassette which also had audio and did not need to be developed the way film did. This was followed by digital video cameras that recorded to flash memory, and most recently smartphones with video recording capability, made the creation of home movies easier and much more affordable to the average person. The Disneyland Resort, commonly known as Disneyland, is an entertainment resort in Anaheim, California.
