Diadems
The Diadems was one of the bands created by the 3rd French season of the popular reality show "Popstars", called "Popstars - the Duel" aired on RTL Group TV channel Métropole 6 (better known as M6) in fall 2003. This all-girls band "lost" the duel with their male opponents called "Linkup" but still won a contract deal with Universal Music Group. The band consisted of Marylore (from Lyon), Angel' (from Marseille), Pookie (From Neuilly-Sur-Marne), Ophélie (from Northern France) and Alexandra (from La Seyne-sur-Mer). ''Popstars'' is an international reality television franchise aimed to find new singing talent. Serving as a precursor to the ''Idol'' franchise, '' Popstars'' first began in New Zealand in 1999 when producer Jonathan Dowling formed the girl group TrueBliss. Despite all shows in the ''Popstars'' franchise having been off air in recent years, it remains one of the most successful TV show formats of all time with the format being sold to more than 50 countries, and producing groups such as Girls Aloud that had success on the UK charts for the next ten years after winning. Linkup was a French boy band, created by the third season of the popular French reality show ''Popstars'', called "Popstars - the Duel" aired on RTL Group TV channel M6 (also known as Métropole 6) in fall 2003. It consisted of Matthieu, Lionel et Otis. Matthieu (which full name is Matthieu Tota) became later known as singer M. Pokora. Career The band released their debut and only album ''Notre étoile'' (meaning Our star in French). The debut single from the album, "Mon étoile" (meaning My star in French) was a success, reaching #1 in the French charts. Paolo Meneguzzi (born 6 December 1976, as Pablo Meneguzzo) is a Swiss Italian singer. He is the son of Loredana Pacchiani and Gomez Meneguzzo.
