Departmentalization (or departmentalisation) refers to the process of grouping activities into departments. Division of labour creates specialists who need coordination. This coordination is facilitated by grouping specialists together in departments. Popular types of departmentalization * Functional departmentalization - Grouping activities by functions performed.
